Continental to Showcase ContiLogger Cosultancy Concept at 2019 Bauma
Continental will be showcasing its latest ContiLogger consultancy concept that incorporates tires, hardware, software and data in an innovative service concept, at this year’s bauma in Munich.
The event is to take place from April 8 to 14 in Munich. The Contilogger consultancy concept allows Continental to effectively link the company’s expertise and its end user even more closely.
ContiLogger service concept
This concept improves consultancy in three steps. A Continental customer solution engineer first conducts a field study which allows them to understand the working environment in which the tires will operate. Speed, distance, location, lateral forces, elevation change, road grade, cycle downtime and the pressure and temperature of the tires are measured with a data logger. It is possible for the engineer to identify data-driven observations by analyzing this on-site data. The engineer makes recommendations about significant tire challenges and other possible application improvements based on the analysis of the data. Besides optimizing tire and equipment life, the recommendations are aimed at improving operational processes.
“This is a holistic concept because it involves evaluating the application as a whole. We see this as extremely important in the OTR earthmoving business, where conditions are exceptionally harsh and the high cost of replacing tires means that proper tire servicing and consulting are essential,” says Enno Straten, Head of Continental Commercial Specialty Tires (CST).
ContiLogger live: Remote monitoring of data and continuous optimization
Continental is scheduled to announce at bauma that it has been working towards refining and improving the ContiLogger service concept. The company is collaborating with its customers to create a complementary remote version of the ContiLogger. This will shift the concept from a single/one-time solution to a remote service and consultancy solution.
The company will present its newest innovations, technological developments and services at bauma in Hall C5.403 at the bauma from April 8 to 14, 2019.
