BASF Refinish Introduces New OEM Sales Toolbox
BASF Refinish has announced the release of a new OEM Sales Toolbox designed to guide collision repair shops in helping them develop a strong strategy that is aligned with the increasing influence of OEMs within the industry.
The company plans to release the toolbox in August this year.
As explained by BASF Refinish in a release, repair facilities will be able to estimate the market potential of different OEM collision programs in their market using this new tool that leverages vehicle registration information. The company adds that the tool will also enable the shops to remain up to date on the OEM requirements for processes, procedures and tools. Consequently, shops will be able to offer their customers the assurance that their vehicles are repaired as per standards of quality and safety set by OEMs.
“BASF’s strong relationships with all major OEMs combined with our data analysis capabilities allowed us to create the OEM Toolbox,” says Jeff Wildman, OEM Manager for BASF Refinish. “BASF reps now have a customizable tool to help collision centers navigate their OEM program opportunities.”
All collision repair facilities will have the option of working with their BASF representative and local distributor to develop a customized market analysis created to suit each individual shop. BASF explains that they will guide the repair shops through a business analysis process to formulate recommendations as per the current readiness/goals of the shop. The recommendation will include details such as OEM program opportunities and enrollment information, tools, equipment or training required for the program and will be according to the specific needs of each shop. BASF also notes that this process will allow shop owners to understand how the money they invest in the OEM programs will pay off.
