NAPA AUTOPRO Conference 2017
Held at the beautiful Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, the 2017 Ontario NAPA AUTOPRO Conference opened this year with a Town Hall meeting.
This new discussion format featured a panel made up of National Director, Banners Chris Thorne, Regional Vice President Chris Kinghorn, Regional Sales Manager Brian Boksa, and General Operations Manager Tom Fortune.
The meeting was chaired by Regional Director Martyn Johns and attracted a record audience of AUTOPRO members. The main topic on the agenda was the growing issue of finding, training, and retaining skilled technicians. The format was such a success, Chris Kinghorn promised to bring it back next year and allocate more time for discussion.
The Trade Show proved to be a major success with AUTOPRO attendees filling the show floor and keeping booth staff busy with new product inquiries.
On Saturday, keynote speaker Scott McKain captivated the audience for a three-hour session that seemed to go by in about 15 minutes. McKain discussed the three levels of interaction and all the touch points that can make a remarkable experience for the customer. He explained how the experience customers receive is precisely what differentiates you from the next service business down the street.
NAPA AUTOPRO then attended a Service Advisor Workshop in the afternoon. After a successful business day, it was time for the gala dinner, awards, and entertainment—provided by The Keynotes.
Awards given out that night included a record of 63 shops receiving the NAPA AUTOPRO Gold Standard Award.
Once again, it was a close race for the NAPA AUTOPRO of The Year Award. The contenders were: K & A AUTOPRO, Cobourg; Roy’s Service Centre, Orangeville and Oakville Eastside Auto, Oakville, Ontario.
The winner, with 119 points out of 120 point was K & A AUTOPRO!
Recently appointed Senior Vice President NAPA Canada, Riley Pratt, took a few moments to address AUTOPRO members and expressed his admiration for the members he has met on his travels across the country and congratulated everyone for making this a record sales year for NAPA AUTOPRO.
This was another successful NAPA AUTOPRO conference with record attendance.
