Goodyear G289 WHA
 

Goodyear recently unveiled its new heavy-duty truck tire specifically designed for garbage collection, the G289 WHA. This tire features a tread with grooves that are 24/32-inch deep. It also includes a special compound for a longer tread life. It will also resist scrubbing. The sidewalls have ribs to protect the tire against lateral rubbing. Its shoulders have a specific design that directs pressure of the outer tread of the tread for a more uniform wear. This Goodyear product comes with the DuraSeal technology with built-in sealing in case of small punctures within the tread (but not the sidewalls). The G289 WHA is available in only one size, 315/80R22.5 with L load range and a 10,200-pound load capacity. Goodyear thinks that the G289 WHA will answer the needs of the majority of refuse collecting operators, mostly for urban application but, according to the manufacturer, it is also good for highway use.
