Friday, January 29, 2010 NASCAR to Implement Fuel Injection in 2011
For years, NASCAR has held on to carburetors for its main racing series. Carburetors are easy to regulate when comes the inspection of the racecars. But now, NASCAR has announced its hopes to replace carburetors with fuel injection as soon as possible. The racing body has been testing potential fuel injection systems. Fuel injection is a more accurate and efficient way of delivering fuel to the engine. But NASCAR wants its fuel injection system to be as fair as possible for everybody, so it is designing and testing its own system. “Our goal is to shoot for 2011,” says Robin Pemberton, vice president of competition for NASCAR.
