Friday, December 18, 2009 GM’s Ecotec 2.4L engine among Ward’s 10 Best Engines
 GM’s Ecotec 2.4L I-4 was recently recognized by Ward’s Auto World magazine’s as one of 2010’s 10 Best Engines for North America. This new engine with direct injection and variable valve timing designed to deliver great highway fuel economy is already available in two new GM crossovers—the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain—and will soon be included in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal sedans’ catalogues. It develops 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Its direct injection also reduces cold-start hydrocarbon emissions by up to 25%. (ED)
