Friday, December 18, 2009 Ford Introduces a New V6 in the 2011 Mustang
Ford unveiled its brand new 2011 Mustang at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Other than cosmetic changes, the upcoming Mustang will also be available with a new Duratec 3.7-litre DOHC Ti-VCT V6 engine that will develop 305 horsepower and 280 ft-lb of torque. It will also deliver better fuel mileage than the older 4.0-liter push-rod V6 it will replace when mated to the six-speed automatic transmission. A standard six-speed manual transmission will also be available. Ti-VCT means Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing, a device that adjusts the valvetrain in microseconds. (ED)
