The Air You Breathe

Cabin filters changed regularly can keep the vehicle’s interior cabin air healthier.

They also help deliver peak vehicle performance. If not changed according to schedule, the filters can result in decreased heating and air conditioning performance caused by restricted airflow through the cabin air filter. An unpleasant odour may also be detected. A new filter removes nearly 100% of odours, pollutants and allergens.

WIX Filters have been in business since 1939, and are very proficient in what they produce now and over their many years as a manufacturer. They have a rich history of oil, air and fuel filter innovation, so they looked for a way to use decades of filtration experience to make the performance of their cabin air filters second to none. WIX found the key to maximum effectiveness with BioShield®75.

Keep the Vehicle Fresh and Clean Inside

BioShield®75 works very well—its invisible microbiostatic coating becomes part of the filter fibre, polymerizing and standing up like spikes. This effectively creates a shield that traps ‘The Nasties™’ offering 1,000 spikes of protection in a space the width of a hair. It also inhibits growth of noxious mould and mildew.

The fact that the cabin air filter needs changing is most apparent by the odour of the air coming out of the vents when the air conditioning is first turned on.

When to Check for Change

You should be checking your clients’ cabin air filters when you check the other filters… it’s important. In case you haven’t been doing this, add it to your maintenance checklist. A clean ‘Nastiesfree’ filter greatly improves the air quality throughout the passenger cabin. It should be changed every 12 months or 20,000 kilometres. Remember too, that a cabin air filter clogged with ‘Nasties’ can also damage the performance of a vehicle’s heating and A/C system.

Most filters are reached through an access panel in the HVAC housing, which may be under the hood or in the vehicle’s interior, under the dashboard or attached to the glove box.

In most vehicles, the cabin air filter can be replaced in 10-15 minutes so make sure you take The Nasties out of the air in the cabin and keep your client healthier and happier.
