Ford will soon be marketing a new generation of 2011 F Super Duties. Offered as F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550, these light trucks will be powered by a 385-hp 6.2-litre gas V8 or a 390-hp (735 lb-ft) turbodiesel 6,7-litre V8 combined to a new six-speed automatic transmission with rear or four-wheel drive. Max trailering capacity will be of 21,600 lbs with an F-350, 24,400 lbs with an F-450 as long as they have a fifth wheel. Ford will also promote the use of a new “goose neck” trailering system with removable hitch ball in the bed. Prices in Canada will begin at $35,499 for a 4x2 F-250 with regular cab and gas engine, while the mainstream F-250 4x4 XLT with gas engine and crew cab will go for $43,399. Add $9,950 for the diesel engine option. (ED)
