Monday, February 22, 2010 Alfa Romeo to Unveil Its Pandion Concept in Geneva
Italian automaker Alfa Romeo (now linked to Chrysler) will unveil an original concept car at the Geneva Auto Show next March. Designed by Italian design house Bertone, the Pandion will be a running prototype of a 2+2 based on the 440-hp V8 rear-wheel driven Maserati GranTurismo platform. The name Pandion comes from a fish hawk known for its long wings. The futurist looking Pandion will still show the traditional Alfa Romeo grille and a rear end that looks like it is going to warp. The design is to celebrate Alfa’s centennial. The Pandion is the first new model by Bertone since the company was returned to the founding family last December. (ED)
