Women of Distinction
Women’s Industry Network
The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) has members from across the United States, Canada, and internationally. This rapidly growing organization provides women in the collision repair industry with a resource for education and networking, and provides a forum to work together on initiatives to recruit, develop and advance women in the industry. The goal is to enhance the collision repair industry and the role of women within it.

Woman of Distinction: Jeanne Silver
Jeanne Silver, owner of CARSTAR Mundelein, has been involved with WIN since its second year in operation and is a current WIN Board Member. She has been in the automotive industry since 1980, and has owned a collision repair facility for 14 years.
As a bilingual English-French speaker, she entered the industry as a liaison between France and America, working for a European automotive lift manufacturer. She transitioned from the world of corporate business to the body shop business, first by consulting with I-CAR in its early days, and then by opening a new body shop from the ground up. She reflected on her business, stating, “It has been a challenge, learning along the way, but we are evolving into a lean collision repair business.”
Jeanne is a WIN board member, and she encourages other women, both English and French speaking, to join. “My favourite part about WIN is that when our members come together, barriers like job description disappear. Everyone has a voice, and women’s issues become the focus. It is very powerful.”
