Sherwin-Williams’ Development Plan
Moving and renovating
« Our development strategy has led us to refresh our image and to geographically reposition ourself in order to bring us closer and better serve our customers throughout North America. We truly hope that, in this way, we will enhance our customers’ shopping experience.»
Thus Yves Roy, the company’s regional director for Eastern Canada, explains the recent changes brought to three Sherwin-Williams stores in Québec and in the Maritimes. « Thanks to this corporate structure, we are in a position to quickly and efficiently serve our clientele, wherever they may be located. »
With some 200 stores spread over the continent, Sherwin-Williams’s automotive finish corporation (SWAFC) has implemented a national relocalization and refreshing program.
Reorganization
In Québec and in the Maritimes, three stores were subject to move and renovate. Sylvain Lamoureux, business manager for the mentioned areas, stated: « As all the other Sherwin-Williams stores in America, the one in Drummondville (P.Q.), Dieppe (N.B.) and Dartmouth (N.S.) now offer larger aisles, better adapted lighting and new product displays. Items are set up by category in order to facilitate the purchase of automotive paint and associated products, as much for occasional as for regular customers.» The goal is that each customer who walks in a SWAFC store, whether he’s in Québec, Saskatchewan or California, quickly feels comfortable and knows where to find what he needs.
Drummondville
Patrice Bergeron, store manager, explains that the former store located in St-Charles de Drummond had become too small to answer the need: « It was then moved to the heart of downtown Drummondville, near Highway 20, in a store that’s now twice the size (4,000 sq. ft.) and near major thoroughfares».
Dieppe
Jerry Boisvert, store manager in Dieppe, a suburb of Moncton (N.B.), is pleasantly surprised by the ongoing increase of patronage since the opening of their new store: « Customer satisfaction on the quality of paint products and after-sales service, be it at the store or on the road, is without question.»

Dartmouth
In Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the phenomenon repeats itself. Jason Doherty, store manager, explains: « Before, we were located in the suburbs and spread over two floors. Here, in the industrial sector, we are better situated to serve our customers quickly and efficiently.»
